The institutional
memory for
your firm.

FirmMemory is a private, sourced answer layer over every matter, memo, and decision your firm has produced. Built with you, behind your perimeter. We stay until your team owns it.

45-MIN WORKING SESSION
NDA-FIRST · NO SLIDES · FOUNDER-LED

Your firm is a ledger of forgotten arguments.

Every matter your firm has ever closed knows something. The redline a partner won three times last year. The expert witness a senior associate would call first. The argument that worked in the Commercial Court but not on appeal. None of it is searchable. So your firm pays to learn it twice, sometimes nine times.

We index it.

FirmMemory. A sourced answer layer — over everything you've ever produced.

FirmMemory is the system we build with every client. It indexes your matters, memos, and internal correspondence, and lets your fee earners ask the firm a question and receive an answer where every claim is anchored to a paragraph in a specific document, with full audit trail.

What we don't knowexplicit gaps in firm precedent
  • T1·Acknowledged limitations

Project Lyra's research memo notes "no prior firm experience with EU FSR in a live transactional context." The Firm has not handled an FSR-cleared transaction post-Lyra.

  • T3·Corpus adjacency

Project Aurora (HC-2018-MA-0034) is referenced in matter notes as a pre-2022 Russian inbound deal, not a renewable-energy analogue and not retained as useful precedent.

  • T4·Question coverage

The retrieval set does not cover post-completion enforcement outcomes for the three matters. Closing memos are present, but no enforcement-action history is in the corpus.

The demo above runs on Holborn Carter LLP, a synthetic UK law firm we constructed specifically to evaluate FirmMemory's retrieval, citation, and gap-detection behaviour end-to-end. 114 matters, 739 documents, ~15,000 paragraphs, generated against an explicit firm profile and tested against an adversarial 30-query evaluation kit. The architecture, retrieval, and citation enforcement are production.

01

Always cited

Every claim links to the underlying memo, matter, or email. The model is forbidden from answering ungrounded; the lawyer trusts their colleague's prior memo, not the AI.

02

Ethically walled

Respects existing matter walls and conflict screens. Inherits live from your DMS, not a parallel permission system to babysit.

03

Tenant-isolated

Models run in your VPC or our SOC 2 Type II tenant. Your matters never train a foundation model. Ever.

04

Built around the partner

Designed to make a 2nd-yr associate produce work a 7th-yr would recognise as their own, not to replace either.

FirmMemory does three things well. We've resisted building the rest.

01
MEMO · MERIDIAN

Relevant matters.

The partner asks. The system finds the prior matters, with the paragraphs that prove the answer.

02
V.1 · 2022V.2 · 2023V.3 · 2024

Sourced synthesis.

The relevant matters, read into a single answer, with every claim cited to a paragraph in a specific document.

03

Honest gaps.

Where the bench is thin, the system says so. No confabulation, no proxy precedent. The gap is the trust signal.

On the roadmap: expertise graph, argument library, automated matter onboarding, post-mortem capture. Built behind a partner, not a checkbox. None promised before the work is real.

We don't sell software. We embed for a quarter, ship FirmMemory, then make ourselves optional.

Every engagement runs the same shape, with one practice group at a time. We start narrow because firm-wide deployment from day one fails, and because the only way to earn a firm-wide rollout is to make one practice group's working life visibly better first.

Weeks 0–2
Listen
Two people embed with three partners and a managing associate from a single practice group. We map where institutional memory is leaking. Output: a written diagnostic. Not a demo.
Weeks 3–12
Ingest
We connect to your DMS, mail, and CLE archives inside your security perimeter. Nothing leaves. We build the corpus, the retrieval, the citation enforcement, the gap-detection logic. You see weekly progress against agreed evaluation criteria.
Weeks 12–14
Hand off
FirmMemory goes live for the practice group that wrote the playbook. Partner approval gates rollout. We document. We train. We step back.
Q2 onwards
Optional
A retainer covers ongoing operation, evaluation against new matter types, and the next capability if you want it. Roughly half our clients keep us on. The other half take the system in-house. We're equally happy with either.
Pricing

Fixed-fee engagements. Not seat licences.

Pricing is published, not bespoke. A number on the page is non-negotiable for UK procurement.

Discovery
£6,000

Two-week embed with one practice group. Output: written diagnostic and scoped pilot proposal.

Data preparation, where required, is scoped at discovery and priced separately. Full commercial terms are agreed in the master services agreement before pilot work begins.

Pilot build
£45,000

FirmMemory live for one practice group across a 12-week engagement. Includes discovery if you proceed within 60 days.

Your data is privileged. We treat it that way.

UK firms have specific obligations under the SRA Code of Conduct, the legal professional privilege framework, and (for firms with EU or US clients) GDPR and various sector-specific regimes. The architecture below is built to those obligations, not retrofitted to them.

Tenant-isolated by default

Each firm runs in a dedicated environment. No shared inference. No shared embeddings. No cross-firm contamination, including across our own client base.

No model training, ever

Your matters never enter a foundation-model training set. Contractually in our master services agreement, architecturally in our retrieval pipeline.

Inherits your ethical walls

Conflict screens and matter walls flow live from your DMS. We do not maintain a parallel ACL system that needs to be kept in sync.

Full audit log

Every query, every source surfaced, every answer. Exportable in a format your COLP and SRA-facing risk function will accept without rework.

GDPR & DPA 2018 compliant

Data Processing Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses available pre-engagement.

Customer-managed keys

Your KMS, your rotation policy. Hardware-backed for partners who require it.

Field note: what we learned generating a 700-document synthetic legal corpus.

Holborn Carter LLP doesn't exist. The 114 matters, 739 documents, and 15,084 paragraphs in the FirmMemory demo were generated on purpose, so we could test citation enforcement, gap detection, and refusal discipline against a corpus whose shape we knew in advance. The trust-architecture argument, with the receipts.

§ 09 — Working session

Leave with a working diagnostic.

Forty-five minutes. NDA-first.

We come prepared. Public information about your firm, recent matters, the practice areas your peers respect you for.

You leave with our written read on where FirmMemory would pay back inside a quarter, and a candid answer on whether we're the right partner for that work.
